2012 Banned Book Displays

Savvy and Programma Mama have a couple of displays for 2012 Banned Books Week (happening this week).  The books are wrapped--because they're forbidden--and you have to check them out sight unseen.  They talked about it in their recent MEG-A-RAE video blog.  As always, click the images to bigify.

Looking for more information about Banned Books Week?  Look no further than the American Library Association (ALA) BBW website.

It feels like a birthday party, with all these wrapped books around.  I guess it is a party of sorts.  It's a celebration of your right to choose what you wish to read.  A 30th birthday bash, actually.  ALA began Banned Books Week in 1982.  That was way before my time (in my present life), but I was around then in one of my previous nine lives.
