The Benchmark in Gothic Horror

If you haven't read Mary Shelley's Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, you ought to give it a whirl.  Sure, that early 19th century Gothic writing style is tough to trudge through, but make a little effort, and you will certainly be well-rewarded.  If you don't want to apply your brain, I'm sure Victor Frankenstein could put it to good use.
